Speaking to TRUELOVE, the 21-year-old who hails from the town of Ndwedwe in KwaZulu-Natal says that she is amazed by the success of the song and is grateful that people can relate to it.
“I wrote this song during the Covid-19 pandemic when most people were locked away from their loved ones and lovers. It was impossible for people to go visit their loved ones during the harsh restrictions and most people had that one special person, be it their mother, a friend or a lover that they really missed and that is what the song is about. I felt that the song would be very relatable and luckily people can still relate to the song,” she tells us.
On working with Amapiano vocalists Sha Sha and Ami Faku, Nomfundo - whose real name is Nomfundo Ngcobo - says the collaboration was a surprise and worked out very well.
“Working with them was amazing and the collaboration was a result of my team members who decided to surprise me. In them I felt like I found soul sisters and I’ve actually always wanted to work with them,” she says excitedly.
